I made a few mistakes, but over time, I developed my current skills through self-teaching.

I like quality things. They don't have to have screaming logos, but I love when the fabric has a story. This Italian brand is practically a family business. In addition, Italian Missoni fabrics are renowned for their sophisticated look, and the brand's signature is impressive to me. For sewing classic tube dresses, the fabric from this fashion house will be absolutely ideal. Thanks to the minimalist cut, its timeless pattern will stand out.
If you have other stretchy fabric available, it will suffice as well. This is up to you, what kind of fabric you will use. The only request is that the fabric needs to be stretchy. Buy stretchy fabric so that the dress creates a nice silhouette. If the fabric is not stretchy enough, it will not hug your body as much as a stretchy fabric would.

The cut is a regular tube, and its length is determined by your choice of tube length. So it is entirely up to you how long the dress will be. I will sew the dress down to my ankles now. I plan to wear it for summer evenings, for example, when we will be in Taormina with family again to see the Isola Bella Sunset. The dress has an opening for the head and arms. If you want, you can make a slit in the back like me. This will be an elegant style forever.

Wash the fabric. If you are working with viscose, please wash it by hand. It is necessary to wash the fabric because, for example, cotton or viscose tend to shrink, even by 10%. If you do not wash the dress and sew it too tight, you may not be able to wear it after washing. To avoid this, it is better to sew from washed and ironed fabric. Moreover, it will be clean. In the store, the fabric tubes sometimes touch the floor, so you will know the fabric is clean.
Sewing a dress from a favorite T-shirt pattern
1. Flatten the fabric out on a larger surface. I usually use a rug on the floor for this. I work well on the floor. The surface is large enough, and the fabric doesn't move on the rug.
2. Using the front piece, which is usually a little smaller, draw a chalk outline of the front piece of the tube dress to the waist, where your T-shirt ends.
3. Using a straight line downwards and using a tailor's ruler, draw a line slightly downwards to A shape (but not too much), the length of your dress. The front piece must be mirror-imaged on both sides. If you want to be sure the shape of your dress is correct, it helps me if you create one side, then fold the fabric and trace the other side 1:1 to match the first.
4. Trace the back of the dress using the back of the t-shirt. Take a T-shirt that fits you well; your future silhouette of your tube dress will have the same shape.
5. Measure the length of the back piece according to the length of the front piece.
6. The back piece must also fit from both sides. Once you cut it, fold one side over the other to check; both sides of your dress will be the same. This is how I always check before sewing that both of my pieces are cut correctly, and the result will be evenly sewn and fit well.
7. If you are sewing from a delicate fabric, iron on the future seams with an edge stiffener. This helps me beautifully strengthen the fabric at the seams, so that, despite being delicate, it does not tear and keeps its shape.
I also ironed on the edge stiffener at the shoulder openings and the neckline.
8. Sewing the individual pieces. Turn the dress wrong side out and sew the front and back together. Start sewing in the shoulder area. If one piece is wider in the shoulder area, trim the fabric so that both sides of the seam are the same width.
9. Sew the sides of the dress. If the front or back piece is longer, adjust the dress length to visually meet your requirements.
10. Put on the dress to see if it fits you properly. If, for example, the waist is too wide for you, use clips or pins to adjust the dress. Shape the dress in the area of the side seams to avoid unnecessary darts. And then sew again on the machine to the desired shape. For stretchy fabrics, we always sew with a zigzag stitch. This will make the dress stretchy around the seams.
11. If the dress fits you, all you have to do is finish the final adjustments. Turn the shoulder openings outward toward the wrong side of the fabric, then sew them. Adjust the neck opening and the bottom edge of the dress in the same way.
12. Turn the dress over, put it on, and you can go outside.

Sewing a dress on a mannequin
1. I carefully pin the desired fabric to the mannequin.
2. The fabric on the dress is shaped by tightening in the back, where I plan the back seam.
If the fabric has a pattern, such as stripes, I tighten it so the pattern naturally follows itself.
3. Once I have the fabric fitted, I carefully cut out two holes in the shoulder area and also cut out a hole for the head. Most mannequins have hints of shapes and lines, so you can grab one of them.
4. After cutting out the necessary holes, unpin the fabric and leave it wrong side up. Iron a reinforcing strip on both sides of the back seam. Do the same for the neck and armholes.
5. Fold a piece of fabric at the neck and arms inwards and stitch to clean up the edges.
6. Sew the back part wrong side out and iron it.
7. Turn the dress right side out, and you can put it on and go out. Maybe for a coffee with a friend.
You don't need a lot of time to sew this easy tube dress, 4 hours is enough. I can say that you will have them finished within 4 hours, even if you make your favorite coffee in the middle.
